The Inn Koncert mobile app is a synchronized light display for your phone.

This is ideal for enhancing the ambiance and atmosphere at Concerts, Shows, Birthday Parties, Celebrations, and Festivities….

The app uses your phone’s LED (camera flash) for lighting effects.

No special hardware is required to use the app on your phone.

The app has four built-in Activity buttons (LED, Strobe, Sync, Chaser) that make it easy and fun.

The app has two modes: Leader and Follower. If you select Leader, you can control up to six Follower devices' LEDs (Camera Flash) if the app is installed and open on their device. Other groups will automatically be created.

USER GUIDE: When you first install the app, four messages appear:

  1. The ‘Notice to User’ will appear. This notice briefly lists the three permission request messages that are about to open. The Notice will time out and close after a few seconds.
  2. ‘WARNING This app may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. User discretion is advised.’ This is because the LEDS on your device and those you connect to will flash when you use the app.
  3. ‘Inn Koncert App would like to access the microphone. We need access to your microphone to detect beats and provide audio features.’ The app will listen to your surroundings, and the device's LEDs can flash with the music if the volume is sufficient.
  4. ‘Inn Koncert App would like to find and connect to devices on your local network. We need local network access to discover and connect to nearby devices.’ Depending on which Mode you are in. The app will search for either Leader's or Followers' devices and connect via Bluetooth.


IMPORTANT: You must accept all three permission requests to open the app.

SCREENS AND MENUS: The Splash screen will briefly appear once the above screens have closed.

When the Splash screen closes, you will see the Home screen. The Home icon is on the upper left, the Title bar is in the middle, and the Settings icon is at the top right. Both the Home and Settings screens have menu buttons with a red border when selected. This will make it easier to identify which menu button has been selected. If the red border is flashing, then your input is required.

The Home screen also displays your avatar at the top left. The app automatically selects your avatar. Color avatars are available for paid subscription Users. Other avatars of group members can be seen towards the bottom of the Home screen.

Next is the Status Field. This will give you information on what the app is doing. For example, if the Follower Mode is selected, it may say “Searching for Leader.”

Underneath the Status Field are the two Mode buttons: Leader and Follower. Leader Mode will search for other devices that have the app in Follower Mode. Conversely, Follower Mode will search for a device in Leader mode. The app opens in Follower Mode by default. Once a Follower accepts the invitation to join the Leader, the Leader can temporarily control the Follower’s LED. A Leader can control up to six Follower devices if a seventh Follower is found. It will automatically become an independent Leader and create its own group, and then the process is repeated.

ACTIVITY BUTTONS: Underneath the Mode buttons are the four Activity buttons:

  1. LED - Turns device(s) LED ON or OFF.
  2. Strobe - This slider switch increases the rate of LED flashing. The Left is slow, and the right is fast.
  3. Sync - Listens to music and, if loud enough, flashes the LED in sync with the music.
  4. Chaser - This is like a Mexican Wave but with light. We call it the Mexican Lightwave. A pulse of LED light flows to connected devices.

 

Note that only the Leader has control of the above four Activity buttons.

CONTROL AUTHORIZATION REQUESTS: Before a Leader can control the LEDs of any Followers, they must accept the requests to join their group. The app automatically generates control authorization requests, which appear at the bottom of the Home screen.

GROUPS: There can only be one Leader per group, and the maximum number of members in any one group is six. If sufficient devices are available, the app will automatically create multiple groups.

SETTINGS: Selecting the Settings icon on the Home screen will open the Settings screen. The Settings screen has eight menus:

  1. About - Opens the About screen, which displays the Logo, Title (About), Version information, App information, and Copyright information.
  2. In-App Purchase - This opens the app's Apple App Store webpage so you can purchase the Pro version. (It is highly recommended as it unlocks features.)
  3. Dark Mode - Dark mode is a popular display setting for User interfaces. It means that instead of the default dark text showing up against a light screen (known as ‘Light Mode’), light-colored text (white) is presented against a dark or black screen. This feature unlocks in the Pro version.
  4. Audio - Provides audio feedback when a button is selected. This feature is unlocked in the Pro version.
  5. Vibration - Provides tactile feedback when a button is selected. This feature is unlocked in the Pro version.

  7. Help - Opens the Help screen.
  8. Visit Website - Opens the app website. The website contains more information on the app.

 

APP VERSIONS: The app has two versions: a free version and a subscription version called PRO. The PRO version can access Color Avatars, Dark Mode, Audio, and Vibration features. It also does not timeout or nag you to upgrade.

PHONE VERSIONS: At the moment, only an iPhone version is available.

LANGUAGE OPTIONS: At the moment only English is available.

TIME LIMITS: The Free version expires after 20 minutes of use but remains open. After 20 minutes, a screen will appear, encouraging you to purchase the PRO version. The Status Field on the Home page will countdown the time. After 20 minutes, the app will unlock for another 20 minutes.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

  1. I can't install the app. You'll need an Internet connection to download and install the app.
  2. The app will not open. To set up the app, you must accept all three installation permission requests (Flashing Lights, Microphone, and Local Network permission).
  3. I cannot change my avatar. The app automatically allocates avatars.
  4. My avatar is boring black and white. How do I get a color avatar? To get a color avatar, simply upgrade to the PRO version.
  5. I cannot connect to other phones. The app works best when all devices are near each other. It uses Bluetooth to communicate. The phones must have the app installed and open, and the invitation to connect must be accepted.
  6. Why did the app stop working? If you use the Free version, it will time out, remain open, and stop working after 20 minutes. To avoid this, wait another 20 minutes or purchase the PRO version.
  7. I cannot form a group. Only a Leader can create a group by accepting invitations from Followers.
  8. Can I switch between being a Leader and a Follower? Yes, you can change at any time if a position is available. Remember, there can only be one Leader per group of six people. Groups are generated automatically, provided sufficient suitable phones are available.
  9. My phone’s battery drains quickly. The age of your battery is one of the main components that affect its capacity to hold a charge. Also, using Bluetooth uses up battery reserves. So, before you use the app, please ensure your phone is charged.
  10. I want to be the Leader of my friend's group, but the app won’t let me. Why? There can only be one Leader per group.
  11. I cannot find a Leader. What should I do? You can wait to find a Leader or create your own group. Just select Leader mode and find your Followers.
  12. I need help joining my friend's group. Check that your Bluetooth is working. Membership in that group may be full. Only six members can be in a group at any time; however, there can be multiple groups. You can wait for a member to drop out or you can join another group.
  13. I can't visit the app website. You'll need an Internet connection to visit the website.
  14. I would like a custom version of the app with our company logo and colors. Is that available? Yes. Just contact us to get things rolling.
  15. I would like a custom version in another language. Is that available? At the moment, only English is available. However, if there is sufficient demand, we will explore this option. Just contact us to express your interest.
  16. Sync Mode is not working? The surrounding music must be sufficiently loud enough to activate Sync Mode. Turn up the volume!
